The Hunger Games Setting Questions and Paragraph

1. What district is Katniss from? Describe the state of her community and her infrastructure.

Katniss is from district 12, the district is very poor, and hunger is constantly a struggle for all it's inhabitants. The community's infrastructure involves a lot of illegal trading and hunting in prohibited areas. - Jake Lund

2.What is Panem,and what is it surrounded by?

It is a nation that was once called North America, surrounded by 12 (formerly 13) districts of different economic, and social classes. - Jake Lund

3.Which district creates the majority of its revenue from mining the earth?

District 12. - Jake Lund

4. Panem rose from the ashes of what continent? What does the continent look like now.

Panem rose from the ashes of North America, Panem now has 12 districts use to be 13  but district 13 was demolished. Every district has there own specialty for example district 12 is coal mining. All these districts are like cities some bigger then others and has a lot of forest land.  - Nima Aminian

5. Describe why the land of District 12 is perfect for farming?

District 12 is good for farming due to the rich soil and the fact it rains every so often to keep the crops healthy and for rapid growth.- Nima Aminian

6. Describe how Panem it is differnt from District 12.

District 12 is on of the 12 districts in panem. Panem is like a continent more like a country due to its small land. Its like New jersey to america one out of the 50 states. - Nima Aminian

7. What is the Capitol, descibe the situation they are currently in.

The Capitol is the rich governement city of Panem, it is in a situation where it must have 2 competitors from each district fight in an arena to the death, to make sure the districts know the Capitol holds power over them. - Jake Lund

8. Describe what the battle grounds of the hunger games looked like.

it is a large forest region, filled with dangers such as poisonous berries, hornets nests, and of course, blood thirsty tributes from the rich districts. - Jake Lund

9. Describe what season it was when the hunger games took place,why did you choose that season?

I say it was getting close to summer do to the heat and rain. There was no snow on the ground and most of the days katniss was describing it as beautiful and sunny outside so my best guess would be summer. - Nima Aminian

10.What were some of the challenges that Katniss had with the enviroment she was fighting in?

The challenges Katniss had with the enviorment varied epending on the day. Some days it was very hot and had nothing to drink and it was to risky to go to the lake and get some water, and other days were it was rainy, damp, and muddy. - Nima Aminian

        In the ruins of a nation once known as North America lies a nation called Panem. Panem is surrounded by 12 districts which all compete in the annual hunger games,which are held in Panem. The characters are all put in a forriest and must fight for their freedom. The battle grounds consist of thick wildlife and vegetation. The season seems to be late spring since the vegetaion is at its peek. The elements seem to take a toll on the characters since the weather changes from scorching heat,chili nights and terrential rains.The battle grounds of Panem are very grusome and consist of thick vegetation,muddy terrain, and harsh weather and in the mist of all of this is a fight for freedom.
